February Favourites

It's come to the end of another month which means only one thing, favourites!! Today I have for you my February favourites, I haven't really been loving anything new this month so I don't have many to share with you but I hope you enjoy nonetheless!! This is also a collab with the lovely Daisy Petals (www.daisyypetals.blogspot.co.uk) , so make sure you check out her February Favourites too!!

Victoria Secret Body Spray in Passion Struck // £16.00
My first favourite of the month is the Victoria Secret spray in Passion Struck. This smells amazing and it reminds of summer. I've been wearing this a lot this month as I've been longing for the Summer months, especially on the many dreary days we've been having!!

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge // £5.99
Next up is a 'makeup favourite' I've recently been obsessed with using the Miracle Complexion Sponge from Real Techniques to blend out my under-eye concealer. This gives my skin a really nice flawless look and I'm obsessed with how nicely the concealer blends out!!

Pandora Rose Gold Rings //
Recently I've been obsessed with wearing rings and for last Christmas and my last birthday I was lucky enough to receive two of the rose gold Pandora rings. These are super pretty and really add something to an outfit. I'm not entirely sure on the pricing of these and as they were both presents I don't want to look either, but if you search for rose gold rings on the Pandora website I'm sure they'll come up!!

Pinterest //
An app that I've been loving recently is Pinterest, I just love creating the different folders for all the different inspo that I see on there. My favourite folders defintley have to be my Interiors one and the DIY one. I would totally recommend Pinterest as it's so fun and I could literally spend hours on there!!

#GirlBoss by Sophia Amoruso // £9.99
My final favourite for the month of February is the #GirlBoss book by Sophia Amoruso. I've heard so many people talk about this book, and I really wanted to pick it up. It's such an inspirational and motivational read and i would totally recommend it to anyone as it realty makes you rethink your actions and how you go about your everyday life.

So those were my February Favourites, I hope you all enjoyed this post and I would defitnley recommend everything that I've mentioned in this post. Also don't forget to check out Daisy Petals post and leave her a nice comment as I'm sure you're going to love her post!!

Updated Bedside Table Tour

I'm super excited for this post as it's been a long time coming! At the beginning of last year I shared with you my bedside table and you all loved it! In fact it's still my most popular post!! Recently my interior style has been changing, don't get me wrong I still love pastels and pinks, but I feel like as I'm getting older I'm kind of 'growing out' of the colour. So to tackle this I've instead been adding in more marble, copper, greenery and rose gold, and I'm obsessed. I hope you all enjoy this post and all the items featured will be at the end of the post!!

I'm very inspired by shops such as Urban Outfitters and Anthropolgie at the moment as I really love the whole minimalistic vibe. I have also been adding more greenery into my room as I feel like it breaks up the pink on the eye which makes it look a lot better!!

Rose Gold Lamp // Ikea
Serenity Candle // Homesense
Pink Bowl // Homesense
Cactus Homesense
Clock // (This was a Christmas present so I'm not entirely sure!!)

3 Tips For New Bloggers

I've had my blog for over a year now, and in that time I've learnt a lot about blogging!! Today I thought I'd share with you some tips on being a blogger for if you're wanting to start a blog.

Don't Worry About Numbers
The first tip and probably one of the most important is to not worry about your numbers. The day that you upload your first post, as harsh as it sounds, don't expect many views. I didn't start to see a difference in my views until about October 2015 and that was two months after I had started my blog. Don't get addicted to your page views and comments because you'll probably be disheartened and it may pit you off of blogging.

Use Social Media
Another very popular tip is to use social media, as you will know social media has literally taken over most people's lives (like mine!) So sharing your blogposts on there are super good ways to gain new readers. Just make sure that you don't bombard your followers every ten minutes with 'check out my new post' or 'I've posted a blogpost, please check it out'. Because you'll most likely lose readers and followers rather than gaining them!!

Plan, Plan, Plan
If you're only going to take one tip from this post today, please make sure it's this! make sure you plan your posts! I've learnt this the hard way, because if you don't plan and prewrite your posts you'll most likely fall behind in your schedule and stress your self out which could ultimately lead to you not being able to post on your blog!!

So those are some of my tips for new bloggers, I hope this helped you if you're thinking about starting my blog, but I must say probably my biggest tip would just be to go for it! You never know what might happen and it's also a super fun hobby that can help you meet amazing people!!

My Brow Routine

Something that I rarely ever see on blogs or even on YouTube are brow routines, I really enjoy filling in brows as I find that they really shape my face. For Christmas I received a Benefit Brow Tin that came with four full size Benefit eyebrow products!! Which means that I've actually started filling in my brows with a pencil which I'd never done before as I always used brow gel.

Primer
Starting off with the primer for my eyebrows, I'm using the Benefit Browvo Conditioning Primer. All you have to do is twist the bottom of the product and a gel comes out which you then comb through your brows. I have actually found that this makes the eyebrow pencil stay on so much longer, even when I accidently wipe my brows!!

Filling in the brows
For filling in my brows I use the Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil as this is so easy to use!! Literally all I do is shape my brows by drawing a sort of outline round my brows and then fill them in. Then because sometimes I fill my brows in a little dark I use a dry cotton wool pad and just brush it through my brows to make them look more natural and even.

Highlight & Shaping
Finally I use Benefit High Brow and I apply it under my brows and blend it out and I can defitnley see in a difference in the shape of my brows. I'm not sure how it does it but High Brow literally changes the shape of my brows.

So that's my brow routine, I hope you enjoyed this post and I would totally recommend all of these products if you already fill in your brows or if you're just starting out!!

Valentines Day Makeup Look 2017

With Valentines Day coming up this week, I thought I would share with you a super pretty Valentines makeup look that I have put together. I did one of these last year and you all seemed to love it, so I thought I'd share another one with you this year!!

For this look I went with a shimmery eye and pink look, red lips don't tend to suit me that much so I switched it out for a pink lip but it still keeps with the theme of Valentines.

Face
Starting off with primer, I'm using the L'OrĂ©al Lumi-Magique Pure Light Primer as this gives a really nice flawless base for the concealer to go onto and it also makes my skin look super bright, which I love!! Next up I'm using the MAC Mineralize Concealer and I'm applying this under my eyes to brighten them up and on any blemishes that I may have. To set the concealer I'm of course using the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder as this keeps my makeup on for a long time. For contour I'm using Benefit's Hoola Bronzer as this isn't too orange for my skin and really defines my cheekbones. To add a little bit or colour to my cheeks, the blush I'm using is from this Ted Baker Blush & Highlight palette that I received in a set last Christmas. The blush in this is so pretty and natural and perfect for Valentines, I'm also going to be using the highlight in the same palette as it's really pretty and looks really nice paired with the blush.

Eyes
Moving onto eyes, I'm firstly priming them with the MUA Pro Base Eye Primer, this is such a good primer and really helps keep my eye makeup on. For eyeshadow I'm starting off with the very first shade in the I Heart Makeup Death By Chocolate Palette, as this provides a really nice base colour and conceals the veins on my eyes. To add a little shimmer I'm using the Barry M Dazzle Dust in 105, as this is gorgeous pink and looks really pretty on top of the colour from the I Heart Makeup palette. Onto mascara, for this I'm using my two favourites which are Benefit's Roller Lash and Bad Gal mascara.

Lips
Finally for lips I'm using the NYX Lip Butter Gloss in Maple Blondie, this is such a pretty pink shade and really ties in the whole look.

And that's my Valentines Makeup Look, I hope you all enjoyed and don't worry if you're single this Valentines (I am too!!) because at the end of the day, it's only another normal day and you don't always need love to be happy!!

Double Denim

You've probably read the title of this post and thought, 'what are you doing? Denim on denim is never a good match' well my friends I thought this too, until I realised that I can get away with black and blue denim in the same outfit (I'm probably slightly late to the bandwagon with this but hey ho)

Anyways today I have another outfit post for you as these are definitely one of my faves to write, I'm currently obsessed with this outfit and I styled it round my new denim jacket which is from Topshop (£65) so I hope you enjoy!!

Starting off firstly with my top, I have on this simple black top from New Look that literally goes with everything, it's really comfy and it's a perfect basic to have in your wardrobe. Next up are my jeans (where the black denim comes into play) my jeans are the Topshop Joni Jeans (£36) they are so comfortable and are again a definite wardrobe staple for me.

For shoes I went with these brogues from Primark that I'm obsessed with, and I personally think that they add more a 'put together' look to the outfit. Plus their super comfy!! Finally we have the main part of this outfit which is my new denim jacket from Topshop (in comes the blue denim) I have been contemplating buying this for so long but I was always put off because of the price. However I finally decided to get and I'm so glad I did! It's the perfect transition jacket for Winter to Spring as it's bringing in some of those spring vibes, whilst still keeping me warm with the fleecy bits.

So that's my outfit, I hope you enjoyed this post and that it gave you some inspiration for your own 'double denim' outfit. I really enjoyed writing this post and I'll defintley be doing some more outfit posts (or maybe even a lookbook) in the future!!

Drugstore Vs High-End: Foundation

Foundation is one of the most important parts of my makeup routine, so making sure you have a good one is key. However you might not want to spend a ton of money on one, today I thought I would do a drugstore vs high-end for foundation.

The foundation I use is one from MAC which is a high-end brand, but before I splurged I used to be obsessed with the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation and also it's a drugstore foundation which means it was pretty cheap!!

Packaging
Starting off with packaging the Rimmel Wake Me Up has pretty sturdy packaging but because I've had mine for quite a while now the lid has actually got a crack in it. In my opinion the lid I think is plastic because it does feel very flimsy when I hold it. On the other hand obviously the MAC Studio Fix Fluid foundation has much more sturdier packaging which I would expect for £22. My only complaint about the MAC packaging is the lid, because it's got quite a rubbery feel any foundation or makeup (as you can see above) literally sticks to the lid which makes it look really dirty.

Coverage
The Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation has okay coverage, it's not full but it also doesn't look like you're not wearing any foundation. The MAC foundation has amazing coverage I find it really nice on my skin and if I'm having a good skin day I literally cant see any redness or blemishes.

Cakey or not Cakey?
One thing that I look for in a foundation is cakiness, if I find it looks really cakey on my skin, then nine times out of ten I end up not using it again! The Rimmel foundation I find looks very cakey on my skin if I wear it for a full day. However I do find that sometimes the MAC foundation can look a little cakey as well but most of the time it looks very airbrushed on my skin.

Pricing
Obviously the Rimmel foundation is from the drugstore which means it's under £10 (and yes I know that sometimes drugstore foundations can be over £10) The exact pricing of this foundation is £8.99. Personally I think that for the quality of this foundation the price is way too high, if I had the choice I would probably price it at about £5.99. The MAC foundation is quite a bit more expensive at £22, but I personally think it's so worth it! The quality of the packaging and coverage is amazing and totally worth it for the price.

So you can probably tell that I much prefer the MAC foundation over the Rimmel one, personally I think that if you're paying £9 for a drugstore foundation, why not just save up for a high-end one??

I hope you all enjoyed this post, I really liked writing this post and I might make this into a little series!!
